Fergus Dillon

Fergus Dillon is a self-taught artist who has been painting for most of his life. He is currently President of Waterford Art Group. Primarily a landscape painter, working in oil and water colours, maritime subjects have been a long-standing interest and this painting of the barque “Dunbrody”, built in 1850 for Gleuies and Co. of New Ross and Waterford, as it might have appeared at the quayside in New Ross in about 1860 in the latest expression of that interest.
