*      Session 2: Understanding and recognising behaviour

What is behaviour?, Behaviour that challenge, Perspectives on behaviour, Causes of behaviour

*      Session 3: Promoting positive behaviour and managing inappropriate behaviour

The assertive teacher, Preventative/corrective strategies, Classroom management planning, Space and stance.

*      Session 4: Policy and practice (School policy framework)

*      Session 5: Recognising, understanding and managing aggressive behaviour

Why do individuals become aggressive?, The conflict spiral, The levels of a crisis, Active Listening, The anger challenge.

*      Session 6: Plenary: Questions, Issues and Evaluation

Number of Places:  30 places for teachers from Waterford Teachers’ Centre, allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis. Don’t delay your application if you wish to attend this seminar.
