Brian O'Loughlin

All the Bog Oak Brian uses he finds himself, mainly in the midlands in or around the boy of Allen. Like the oak trees of today they lost their leaves in autumn and grew them back in spring, except 5,000 years ago. During that time the tannin in the oak reacted with the iron in the bog causing the oak to harden and darken. Brian works within the natural character of this unique and magical wood, highlighting the various fissures and crevasses, following its twists and turns in harmony with nature.
