WEBINAR: THE SOCIAL EMOTIONAL TRANSITION INTO SECONDARY SCHOOL
The transition into secondary school is one of the biggest life changes that an individual will experience. On top of puberty and increased sensitivity to stress, early adolescents also begin regulating their emotions independently and depend more on peers rather than parents. This period produces the highest onset of mental health issues worldwide, so we need better education around this.
The Motus programme is a social emotional learning programme that specifically targets well-being across the transition. It is the only Irish programme evidenced to improve social-emotional outcomes across the transition, and has been delivered to over 50,000 students in over 320 schools. This course will explain the key learning outcomes from the Motus programme and how we can teach them.
